This is - the real and genuine - Alexia's Wild Charity_1979 Website !
Welcome to our new website - we hope that you enjoy your visit. This new site has been specially set up not only to celebrate a very special anniversary milestone, but also as a completely fresh beginning - just as though we have turned full-circle and are starting again from scratch !
It has so far been really exciting for us to have been able to create this from virtually nothing - only several years of ideas and rough notes that have been written down since in around when the coronavirus pandemic crisis began, back early in 2020.
For our charity-organisation as a whole, since its very infant beginnings back in around the early / to mid-1990s, this is actually "Phase 3" - as because we have since in around 2019 /'21 changed radically the structure and format of how the organisation is run and managed. As well as the aforementioned - in the same period of time, the organisation has also adopted an alternative name, that has since replaced the former one.
This is an incredible little organisation that has done so many things over many years - that /or when others could not - stepping-in to try to fill-in "gaps". It has survived the 'Covid-19' pandemic crisis - but it now needs as much support as possible to survive the cost-of-living crisis as well !!

Q. - What is 'Alexia's Wild Charity_1979' ?
A. - 'Alexia's Wild Charity_1979' is a non-profit, pioneering volunteer-run environmental, children's and well-being foundation or charity-type organisation, which began life back in the early / to mid-1990s as a locally-based wild Red fox study group - called the 'Foxwatch'.

Q. - Is 'Alexia Visual Artists' the same thing as 'Alexia's Wild Charity'?
A. - Yes and No! - 'Alexia Visual Artists' (- also known as "AVA") is actually - currently - a sub-division of the organisation as a whole. AVA began just over 10 years ago and is a small arts group - with the aim of improving mental health and well-being though arts and nature.
The group create pieces of art from items that can be recycled, rather than them going to landfill. The group is also involved in what is these days often referred to as "up-cycling" - that is restoring old / or vintage things that have been damaged or even very badly damaged !

Q. - What is 'Alexia Art 4 Kids'?
A. - 'Alexia Art 4 Kids' is - currently - the charity's Children's division / or section. Since in May 1996, although at that time it was not known by its current name, it has been providing colouring-in books and colouring-in posters for children and young people, including at open day events (- example photo shown here). (- The charity can also provide colouring-in books for grown-ups / older people, too - see elsewhere.... )
But as well as providing the already aforementioned - also gift-wrapped items as well as the colouring-in books - for sick children - who are in hospital / other, to try to help cheer them up.

Q. - What is 'Alexia and The Fox'?
A. - 'Alexia and The Fox' is a very long-running illustrated and regularly published ongoing story, which has been running almost continuously since December, 1994. It was originally called 'The Nocturnals Forest Animals', and it is based in two main fantasy locations known as "Nocturnals Wood" and "Hawk Meadows" - in the story, they are side-by-side, and located just to the east of Leicester (city). "Hawk Meadows" was actually invented back in 1987 (- by myself, as a child!....) - it was eventually and radically decided in about 2011 that the two story ideas could actually be combined.
In summary - This is a very emotionally-charged, moving illustrated story, in part based on real life- events - including dealing with human sickness and health-problems. It is not just about a young woman trying to help a sick fox, but goes so much deeper than that.
Some of the art-panels have also been used for greetings cards designs to try to help raise funds - a new set of cards were created and printed later in 2022, (- more on about that, will be mentioned elsewhere). The story's usual format has been for a long time, and still is, like that of a graphic novel, although there are/ have been other variations or formats.

Q. - What is 'Alexia the Dream-Helper'?
A. - 'Alexia the Dream-Helper' is a (- the ) title-name that was recently given to a Children's illustrated story / picture-book, that has been started actually as a "lockdown" project, in around the spring of 2020. That was of course while everyone had to be "socially-distanced" as because of the coronavirus, 'Covid-19' Pandemic (- and also before the vaccination programme had started to be rolled out).
The first thing to be created has been the book's outer cover-design - running across a whole A3-sized panel - and using mixed-media, including such as inks and acrylic paints. It has been created by an artist / illustrator who is a co-founder of our organisation - and has already had artworks published in books and magazines in the past.
But also - it is not actually the first time that this main title has been used. It was originally also an alternative name for the whole story, featuring the same character(s) as in 'Alexia and The Fox' - namely - Alexia, Jenna and Maya - also being called 'Alexia the (Dream-) Helper', back in around 2012/ '13. As such, generally speaking both of these titles are protected under Copyright law, while the cover-design (- also legally protected) is likely to be also made available as a "stock-image" for other Children's book authors to use if they want - so please, do watch this space!
It is planned and hoped, that this new Children's book will be printed and published later this year - 2024 - just before the 31 years anniversary is celebrated. It will have the required ISBN and barcode - as it will be made available in the wider public domain.

Q. - What is 'Alexia's Wild Chronicles'?
A. - 'Alexia's Wild Chronicles' is - currently - the name of the charity-organisation's printed magazine, that is created and compiled along with artwork, illustrations and photos - by 'Alexia-AMP / AVA', as well as any contributions from members / or supporters.
The magazine began way back in September, 1995 - when the original 'Foxwatch' newsletter itself was completely re-vamped, having been first circulated among the infant organisation's Society-members late in 1994. At that time it was given a new chosen name - 'Bushy-Tales'. That name was the most popular one for the then forthcoming magazine - chosen by the majority of members in a survey.
'Alexia's Wild Chronicles' is now - currently - at "Volume 26". Each volume "opens" at one particular edition / or issue, and later "closes" at another - having been divided into several issues that are compiled and edited over a certain or set period of time.
This magazine is and has always been made only available privately for anyone who has supported the charity-organisation in some way - however large or small. The magazine itself is actually a service provided by the organisation. It is exclusively for members / supporters as a kind of community - and as a way of thanking them in return for their much-needed and vital support, and so is therefore not made available or sold in the wider public domain.
Each "volume" or edition has its very own Cover-design, which these days, like a book is designed to fit both the front and back outer cover layout - spread across a whole A3-sized panel. The outer cover design is usually created by sub-division art group 'Alexia Visual Artists' - and thus, will likely have multiple uses - including such as for greeting-cards as a fund raiser / and/ or, also as an outer cover-design for a Children's book - as has already been aforementioned.
Incredibly and amazingly, the charity-organisation STILL has some of the same loyal core-supporters - they are the very same people who originally first came to us back in the early days of in 1994 / and '95 ! A hugest possible THANK-YOU! - To all those wonderful people who have stood by us for all of this time - and are still even today supporters, all of these many years later !!
