'Alexia Visual Artists' (AVA) - was set up over 10 years ago now by a small group of people experiencing mental health difficulties.

It is currently a "sub-division" of our charity-organisation as a whole.

As because we are an environmental and well-being organisation, as well as a children's one, the arts group is currently also involved with "up-cycling" - which generally means restoring things that have been badly damaged and would otherwise have been thrown away and ended up in landfill, or even worse !

We will be showing on these pages many examples of artworks and photography, as well as photos of old / vintage things that have been restored - created and up-cycled by members of this small group of people. They will be examples of artworks, etc. that have been created during the last 10+ years and more - they will appear here / and also on the "Our Own Creations" pages - so please do keep coming back to have a look !

We have already been showing some examples on 'Flickr', since in 2021 - including those done socially-distanced during "lockdown" - during the 'Covid-19' Pandemic.

It is now hoped that other people will join in with us - and we can all share our experiences and support each-other.

Just one of the key ways of doing this was thought up late last year - when it was decided that a special place could be reserved in our own magazine, for people who feel that they are in need of support - as because of them suffering with difficulties.  It was decided that those people could be invited along too -  to contribute their own stories along with any nature photos and/or artwork, or poetry.

We all know that observing and feeling that you are a part of nature itself, can make an enormous difference to a person's well-being.

We all know also, that being part of something can make such a difference to how a person is feeling, and give them HOPE !

Please believe me, I know what I am talking about !

That is what we want to do here - through this website and our magazine too - offer a place to share your thoughts and feelings - without stigma and without being judged.   If we have helped just one person to feel better who is suffering or experiencing difficulties, then we have already made a difference and have succeeded !
